Seeking Armed Commissioned Security Officers to become an integral part of our team in the Central/North West Area of Houston

FULL time or PART time opportunities; 8, 10 hour shifts flex schedule; 1st or 2nd shift availability.

This post is for a government/state agency. Day shift-Monitor CCRTV to include monitor of card access entry points. Greeting employees and visitors. Logging sign in sheets and info sheets. Will be in communication with incoming employees and visitors, must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate with clear concise directives and with directives and information in a professional manner.

The first shift guard primary role would be to assist incoming visitors, verify ID badging and that swipe entry is performed by employees. Answer phones-minimal calls and direct the calls as needed to the correct Point of contact.

Lot patrols (company vehicle on site to complete the patrols), must be present, visible, diligent, and actively alert while on duty. You must have an active drivers license with clear driving history. Must be detail oriented, and be able to work in ever changing elements and a fast paced environment. This is a state agency and the guards that work this facility must show presence. Working in Tandem with other Guards.

The selected individual(s) will also patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons. Must have excellent communication skills and be willing to work closely with the clients to meet expectations. Must be able to self manage; opportunity to work multi site if needed. Independent work habits, be able to articulate information in reporting. Work with other co guards in a support capacity and be a team player.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• Check ID badging
• Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
• Request emergency personnel for high risk situations

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 yr. previous experience in security, law enforcement, military or other related fields
• Familiarity with security equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Be comfortable working in ever changing environment and elements
• Strong attention to detail
• Commissioned Security license
• reliable source of communication and transportation
• Pass a drug and background screen
