JOB OVERVIEW: Greeters are responsible for creating the first impression for the guest. These individuals have the ability to influence the guests overall restaurant experience. Greeters may be the final point of contact and have the ability to ensure guest satisfaction. Greeters must possess a friendly, informative and helpful manner. They must be prepared to answer all guest questions with accuracyREPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager Department: RestaurantESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all policies/service procedures/standards.2. Arrive to work on time, as scheduled, with all necessary equipment, supplies and properly attired (or Uniformed) to begin work according to company standards3. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy 4. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.5. Confirm all reservations6. Answer phone and take reservations 7. Enter all reservations into Open Table Reservation System8. Greet guests in a warm welcoming manner9. Assist Maitre D seat guests10. Keep podium area organized and clean11. Ensure matches, mints and business cards are properly displayed12. Knowledge of private dining information13. Check on rest rooms frequently to ensure that they are always spotless and free of liter, as well as fully stocked, reporting any problems or poor conditions to the proper person14. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team15. Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy16. Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgments17. Maintain knowledge of: a) table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the Restaurant.QUALIFICATIONSEssential: 1. Command of the English language2. Professional appearance and attitude3. 1 years experience in a high end restaurant 4. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers 5. Ability to: · understand and focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.PHYSICAL ABILITIESEssential: 1. Must be able to stay on feet for up to 8 hours throughout work shift.2. Must be able to bend and stoop to the floor

Responsibilities

  • Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiter's name
  • Use visual cues to seat guests in either the bar or dining area depending on their preference
  • Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service
  • Manage the flow of guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming guests if appropriate
  • Tend to special guest needs and requests
  • Observant to guests' needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service (i.e. notice a drink refill is needed while seating another guest and ensuring the drink is refilled prior to getting back to the door).
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies
  • Issue dining charges by verifying orders; calculating taxes; totaling bill for to-go orders
  • Receive payments by validating credit charges; approving checks; accepting currency; calculating and issuing change for ToGo orders
  • Reconcile cash drawer by proving cash transactions; listing checks and credit card charges for to-go orders
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Requirements

  • Must be able to read menus
  • Must be able to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests, as well as being able to understand requests for assistance
  • Must be able to clearly communicate guests' needs to W/Ws, Bussers, Managers, etc.
  • Must be able to hear well in a loud environment in order to answer telephone and respond to guest requests
  • Must be able to walk and stand during entire shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and wipe
  • Must be able to carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
  • A desire to help out where needed and work as part of a team
  • Passion for providing extraordinary service
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
  • 6 months experience in a full-service restaurant preferred
  • Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
