Job Description Summary
The Hyperbaric Technician, under the direction of the Program Director and/or Safety Director of the Hyperbaric Medicine Department, administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician. Performs duties under supervision of the Program Director, Clinical Coordinator, and/or Safety Director as is appropriate for the facility. Is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. Responsible for taking patient's vital signs and monitoring patient while in the chamber.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. a. Assists in patient preparpation for treatment, (Lift patient or transfer)
b. Tolerate pressurization and depressurization in a hyperbaric chamber.
c. Need to be able to hear patients and staff. Also, listen to equipment for malfunctions.
d. Takes vital signs, blood glucose, and monitors the transcutaneous oxygen monitor (Tcom).
e. Closely monitors the patient while in the chamber.
f. Reinforces education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy.
h. Performs duties and procedures as directed by Program Director, Medical Director, and in
some cases the Clinical Coordinator
i. Performs hyperbaric chamber operations and system maintenance as required.
j. Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation.
Participates in the safety program.
Maintains competencies, continuing education and certifications as appropriate.
Utilizing data software for wound management.
Make appropriate entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits.
Tolerate pressurization and depressurization in a hyperbaric chamber.
2. Reinforces education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy.
a. Standardizes and implements TCP02.
b. Adheres to stringent daily protocols and procedures for pre, during and post Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
c. Safety monitoring of patients whilst they are preparing for, during and after Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
3. Keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation.
a. Enters the data into the DCS database i-heal, including ancillary services, nursing assessment, superbills etc.
b. Uploads patient photographs into Epic
4. Performs duties and procedures as directed by Program Director, Medical Director, and in
some cases the Clinical Coordinator.

6. Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation.
7. Make appropriate daily log entries for daily hyperbaric treatments / cancellations.

a. Utilizing data software for wound management, namely i-heal ensuring data is entered as according to policy and procedures stated by Diversified Clinical Services.
b. Runs daily, weekly, monthly reports as determined by policy and procedures
9. Safety Awareness – Fosters a “Culture of Safety” through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.

photo uploading.
? Tolerate pressurization and depressurization in a hyperbaric chamber
? Need to be able to hear patients and staff. Also, listen to equipment for malfunctions.
BLS - Basic Life Support. Dependable, customer service focused, adaptable, strong attention to detail, ability to follow through on assignments, ability to problem solve, use of judgment, good oral skills and written communication skills, ability to relax patients, knowledge of infection control, safety and all unit required skill review.
