Position Overview

The Hydraulic Shop Foreman manages the daily operations of the shop floor. Shop Foreman provides direct supervision to the Service Technicians and assist them, when necessary, in diagnosis of difficulties and recommending needed repairs. Provide leadership and supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and working rules.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently run shop floor, including equipment and personnel, in a fast-paced environment in an independent manner with positive results
  • Lead, train and develop shop floor
  • Communicates with team members to help diagnose and repair heavy equipment
  • Troubleshoot, rebuild, and repairs hydraulic components on heavy equipment
  • Provide a high level of communication with shop employees and office manager
  • Perform diagnostic testing of components.
  • Organize and prioritize workloads for mechanics
  • Perform quality control checks before parts are shipped.
  • Develop and improve shop operations, decrease down time, and implement/enforce efficient work processes
  • Ensure all floor personnel complies with rules and company policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; certificate, licenses.
  • 3+ years supervisor experience
  • 3+ years? experience maintaining and repairing various types of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
  • Proven strong and successful supervisory skills
  • Proven mechanical and electrical skills with demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of equipment, including electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Superior judgment and decision-making skills
  • Capacity to be highly confidential, discreet, and tactful
  • Ability to lead, manage multiple tasks and work in an effective and positive manner
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office and ability to multi-task through different applications quickly
