We're looking for an enthusiastic Human Services Coordinator I who will responsible for supervising and preparation of child support cases for Family Court; performance of activities in Court; the follow-up on these cases, including parent locate and processing of interstate cases; and is responsible for providing general child Support enforcement services to clients as required or needed.

The Human Services Coordinator I prepares cases for court; verifies and notarizes pleadings, schedules hearings, files papers with the Clerk of Court, and utilizes DSS terminal.

Handles correspondence and telephone inquiries relating to child support services.

Processes and monitors interstate cases. Keep other states advised of all activities.

Maintains control of assigned caseload; responsible for identifying and making recommendations on problems with the child support system and participating in the solutions. Examples of possible areas would be service of process and scheduling of cases.

Maintains case records, case narrative recordings written and electronically (into agency designated system) for documentation and auditing purposes a required by agency policy in a timely manner.

Communication with other units within the Child Support Services Division and other components within the Department of Social Services: adds support order data to IV-D System, as well as financial information to ensure distribution of collections.

Coordinates intrastate and interstate genetic tests, including scheduling and follow-up.

Coordinates with the Clerks of Court the enforcement of support obligations.

Conducts interviews with custodial parents for paternity cases, interstate support cases, and other cases as necessary.

Performs locate activities as required.

Interprets child support services programs to clients, general public and to the community as needed.

Assists Regional Director and Coordinator II in administering the operations of the respective office. This involves help with policy and procedure implementation.

Liaison with Court personnel and with Sheriff's personnel responsible for service of process of legal documents.

Acts as resource for entry-level Human Services Specialists.

Performs Red Cross Shelter Duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as requested.

A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or Behavioral Science and one (1) year of professional experience in Human Services or Social Service programs.

A Bachelor's Degree in any other field and two (2) years of professional experience in Human Services or Social Service programs.

A Master's Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or Behavioral Science. Selected positions may prefer supervisory experience.

A Master's Degree in any other field and one (1) year of professional experience in Human Services or Social Sciences.

Knowledge of federal, state and local laws or regulations pertaining to social service programs. Ability to supervise employees. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to organize and maintain a caseload. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with officials, other state agencies and the public.
Must possess a valid SC Driver's License and be able to transport equipment, case files and adults to Court. May be required to work after hours/some overnight travel. Proficient computer and technical skills using MS Word, Outlook, MS Teams, internet, and other computer applications
