Job Description

MAJOR FOCUS:

Under general supervision, provides superior customer service to applicants, new hires and current employees; provides clerical and administrative support for the human resources department; maintains accuracy of confidential personnel data and records.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Promotes and maintains the utmost integrity and the highest caliber customer service to all visitors/employees entering the HR office.
  • Processes new hires and assists them in completing all new hire paperwork (I-9's, tax forms, , etc.) ensuring all paperwork is complete and correct.
  • Sets up new employee files.
  • Enters new hire data into HR/Payroll system verifying information is complete and correct.
  • Prepares memos, letters, reports and other Human Resources related forms.
  • Greets all employees/visitors in a professional, friendly and courteous manner and provides support activities such as answering telephones, assisting and resolving problems, and handling general inquiries.
  • Establishes, updates, and maintains employee files and records; implements and maintains data management systems, as required.
  • Responsible for all employment verification letters.
  • Responsible for the HR Training room calendar.
  • Responsible for ordering office supplies within the allotted budget.
  • Responsible for understanding the employee lottery license process and providing back-up as needed.
  • Reconciles bills associated with the new hire process.
  • Reviews and distributes incoming correspondence; performs office administrative duties; collects and compiles data.
  • Provides exceptional customer service
  • Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations
  • Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests
  • Follows all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with the company’s recycling program standards.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience in general office work required.
  • Supplemental college courses in administration or human resources management preferred
  • Prior HR front desk experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Must possess good written/oral communication skills
  • Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
  • Must present an overall professional appearance and report to work in appropriate attire
  • Must be able to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Must be able to write clearly, concisely and use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Must perform work accurately and in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Must be able to manage processes, multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Good analytical/numerical, organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must maintain and honor confidentiality and have the ability to balance HR integrity with the needs of front-line employees and management.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
