Job Description

In this role, you will be a Human Resources Generalist based in Norman, OK responsible for plants in Oklahoma and Texas covering approximately 130 employees. You will perform a full range of HR activities in the areas of Staffing/Recruitment, Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits and Training.

What You'll Do:
  • Work with Business Unit (BU) HR Leader and Administrative colleagues at facilities to implement best practices, business process improvements and work redesign. Assist in building talent capability through performance management, employee development and succession planning.
  • Recruiting and Retention: Work with Corporate recruiting team to create and implement recruiting strategies and systems.
  • Support and guide leadership teams, managers and employees regarding Company policies, HR programs administration and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are handled consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Work with Corporate resources and BU HR Leader to assist managers with incorporating training and development into performance plans for their direct reports. Provide access to training tools. Provide guidance/training as necessary.
  • In collaboration with the leadership team and BU HR Leader, build a performance based culture that emphasizes Arcosa values and competencies.
  • Implements and maintains departmental procedures, EEO/AA logs and reports and personnel records.
  • Performs new hire orientations, enrollments, audits, and other HR duties.
  • Participate in confidential investigations of complex employee relations issues.
  • Prepare and represent organization at unemployment hearings.
  • Process and track information in support of policies and benefits such as Leave of Absences, FMLA, Worker Compensation and other leave issues.
  • Oversee the maintenance of personnel files and records in compliance with retention requirements.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelors or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience at a Human Resources Generalist or higher level, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with, and influence the decision making of management and assigned client groups.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to remain flexible in the face of changing market forces and organizational priorities.
  • Ability to comfortably interact in a matrixed reporting structure with competing interests and priorities.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills including strong proofreading skills and / or presentation.
  • Must be willing to travel to plant locations, occasionally on short notice.
