Title: Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will assist in running various aspects of the Human Resources
Department including but not limited to benefits programs, talent acquisition and retention, background checks, policy and procedure enforcement, performance evaluations, document organization, recognition programs, and meeting preparation. The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Manager.
Position Accountabilities
- Assists in the coordination of management and organizational strategies, programs, policies and procedures; determines effectiveness of practices and develops strategies to support organizational goals and objectives.
- In conjunction with the HR department and management team, provides direction and oversight of the Company’s Recruitment initiatives.
- Function as a policy/procedure expert for management and employees. Provides support by answering requests and researching issues.
- Assist with payroll if needed and be knowledgeable of the payroll process and database.
- Provides direction and helps administer benefit programs including new hire enrollment and terminations.
- Provides direction and administers the Background Check process and employment eligibility.
- Assists with the administration of the company’s Workers’ Compensation Program.
- Works closely with BWC, TPA and the MCO on all workers compensation claims forKendall House, Inc.’s employees.
- Assists with the company’s Unemployment Compensation Program. Works with appropriate leadership to participate in conference calls with telephone hearings (appeals’ process).
- Assists with audits and ensures compliance with FMLA regulations and maintains internal tracking database.
- Assists in investigation including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, fraternization, employee grievances, etc.
- Assists in the compliance with regulatory agencies, including required reporting (EEOC; OSHA surveys, etc.). Provides oversight of restaurant safety.
- Interacts with insurance company representative to ensure prompt attention to and resolution of customer occurrences (alleged illness, injury, etc.); property damage; and theft/burglary issues
- Serves as liaison to the management staff on issues of employment law, risk management issues, etc. Responsible for quarterly reporting to management staff on Human
Resources and Risk Management issues.
- Assists with preparation for company events.
- Administers company wide recognition program for performance and tenure.
- Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education, seminars, and self-study.
- Maintains positive behaviors, approaches, attitude, and commitment to interpersonal services toward co-workers, visitors, etc. Promotes teamwork and collaborative culture.
- Responsible for compliance with Kendall House, Inc.’s safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts research on a variety of topics and vendors, creates summary of comparison and provide recommendations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities or equivalent in experience.

Physical Demands: Physically and emotionally able to handle irregular hours with minimal absences. Must be able to stand, and walk for significant periods of time. Position requires coordination, corrected vision, hearing, legible writing, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting. Requires verbal ability to express ideas clearly, and ability to listen to others.
Work Environment: Office and restaurant environment. Occasional unpleasant and/or stressful work-related situations.
Work Schedule: Typically work regular business hours. Requires occasional attendance at various times and days of the week. Must be willing to work according to company needs and job responsibilities/deadlines.
