Summary/Objective
The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Regional Human Resources Manager in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, and policy implementation.
Essential Functions

- Manages and resolves employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations; coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions
- Manage the recruiting and onboarding for non-exempt warehouse staff
- Coordinates training of new and existing employees with Plant Management; manage tracking and wage changes associated with training completion.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with Regional HR Manager to educate employees on any changes
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to plant management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Partner with site Safety Coordinators to ensure safe working environment for all employees
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Assist Regional HR Manager in the development of training materials for employee needs and special projects; participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success and training needs are met
- Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as orientation, on-the-job training, refresher training, etc
- Makes suggestions on improving work processes, procedures, and employee engagement
- Act as back up to HR Generalist for payroll related activities
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The job requires long periods of standing while teaching a class.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week.
Travel
Domestic travel of up to 15% within the Midwest Region.
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree and one to three years of HR experience, or five to seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, talent acquisition, employee and union relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
Preferred Education and Experience
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential
Experience in both union and non-union manufacturing/production setting
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Familiarity with Kronos, SuccessFactors a plus
