Knox College invites applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Human Resources Associate. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain HR database, employee personnel files and new applicant information
- Assist with recruitment process, including placing advertisements for positions, processing background checks and recruiting employees from temporary staffing agencies as needed
- Assist with onboarding process, including onboarding presentations and collection of new hire paperwork
- Process purchase orders, reconciliation of the department credit card, and billing of life and disability insurance
- Support COVID policy tracking
- Assist in maintaining tuition benefit records, worker’s compensation claims, and TIAA rosters for training sessions
- Process employment verifications as needed
- Assist with coordination of annual Holiday and Kick Off Luncheons
- Assist with basic office tasks, such as answering phones, filing, and ordering supplies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience
- Two years of direct administrative assistant experience in Human Resources or three or more years of progressively responsible administrative assistant experience
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced office environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in word processing and digital technology skills (MS Office, Google Suite, Excel)
- Experience with functional use of data management and maintenance technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good understanding of College policies and benefits
- Experience working at an institution of higher education
- Experience with BambooHR HRIS
