Human Resources Assistant

McAdams is hiring a professional, detail-oriented full-time Human Resources Assistant to join our engaged and dependable team. The candidate will be responsible for performing routine clerical, administrative, and human resources functions such as posting job openings, scheduling interviews, onboarding, assisting with the planning and implementation of company events, maintaining staff files, maintaining company org chart and other administrative/clerical duties.
HR Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to “internal clients”
- Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
- Maintain HRIS by updating and entering data
- Complete various administrative tasks such as setting appointments and arranging meetings, compiling reports and spreadsheets, maintain personnel files and human resource information system and ensure all personnel transactions are documented and properly filed and/or entered in the system
- Participate in the recruitment process by posting job ads, organizing resumes, and scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process
- Assist with employment verifications and reference checks
- Assist with the completion of compensation and benefit documentation
- Assist with the onboarding of new employees including collecting employment and tax information, assisting with the benefit enrollment process, serving as a point person for all new employee questions, and preparing new employee files
- Participate in benefits tasks, such as claim resolutions, reconciling benefits statements, and approving invoices for payment
- Serve as a point of contact with benefit vendors/administrators
- Maintain current HR files and databases
- Update and maintain employee benefits, employment status, and other confidential records
- Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
- Complete termination paperwork and assisting with exit interviews
- Maintain employee handbook and organizational staff chart
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus
- 2 years of administrative assistant experience required
- Must have excellent MS Office Suite skills (including Word and Excel)
- ADP experience a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Have strong interpersonal skills and must be adept at problem-solving
- Must have excellent organizational skills
