Position: Human Resource Assistant
Classification: Non-exempt
Status: Part-time
Rate: $17-22 per hour: BOE
Location: Atlanta, GA
NewFields Companies, LLC is seeking service minded, self-motivated and organized individual to provide administrative support to our evolving Human Resource and Legal departments. The Human Resource Assistant will provide more than just data entry; the position will support the on-boarding process, perform various audits, create custom and ad-hoc reports, and support company initiatives that drive a positive culture and increase employee satisfaction.
The Human Resource Assistant will play a significant role in providing service to our employees while supporting the overall departmental goals of the Human Resource and Legal teams including an empowerment campaign, effective communications, compliance, culture and the 3 P’s (policy, procedure, and practice) while maintaining a focus on the timeliness of accurate deliverables.
Reporting to the Senior Human Resource Generalist, the HR Assistant collaborates closely with the rest of our Human Resource and Legal teams and plays an important role in preserving NewFields’ unique culture. The HR Assistant is always ready to tackle any issue, while maintaining a positive can-do attitude.

Our corporate office is located in Atlanta, GA in the heart of Midtown. We are one block away from the Arts Center MARTA Station, as well as walking distance to several restaurants, coffee shops, and retail stores. We are also a few blocks away from Piedmont Park and Atlantic Station.
. Requirements:Position Responsibilities
HR Support – 55%
- Complete monthly and quarterly audits for human resources and payroll.
- Set up and maintain employee information in various systems.
- Support bi-weekly payroll process as needed.
- Create ad-hoc and custom reports in various systems as requested.
- Coordinate employee recognition events.
- Assist in the recruiting process, post jobs, reply to LinkedIn DMs, monitor submissions, coordinate candidate interviews and maintain updated recruiting portal.
- Follow up with new hires to ensure onboarding tasks are complete.
- Respond to executive and employee requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Use discretion when creating or destroying work product to ensure confidentiality.
- Create new hire files.
- Pull termed employee files and scan.
- Organize and scan human resource and payroll documents in storage.
Legal Support – 25%
- Use LicenseLogix to submit state and other regulatory licensing requests and provide status updates.
- Track and report on company training initiatives and follow up with employees as needed.
- Perform audits of policy acknowledgements.
- Coordinate document signatures.
- Assist in the coordination and completion of supplier pre-qualification forms.
- Assist with data and information gathering for annual insurance renewals.
Admin Support – 10%
- Use Concur to submit and code invoices.
- File confidential documents in a secure manner.
- Scan and maintain organization of internal filing system of all employee records.
- Draft basic cover letters.
- Coordinate and track FedEx and UPS deliveries.
- Work with marketing to create and format consistent templates for policies and procedures.
- Edit draft documents for grammar, consistency, and messaging clarity.
- Use Right Signature to create e-sign and trackable documents.
Training & Development – 10%
- Train and develop competency in benefit administration.
- Train on HIPAA compliance.
- Train and develop competency in human resource compliance.
- Train on federal, state, and local business registrations.
- Train as payroll back-up.

Requirements:
Education: Associates Degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2 in an administrative support position with a track record of increasing responsibilities.
Computer Software: Intermediate knowledge with MS Office and excel guru. Experience using accounting software or third-party payroll system a plus.
Travel: This position is not expected to travel.
Physical Demands: This is a stationary position with extended hours working in front of a computer and includes the use of repetitive hand movements, frequent phone usage and lifting of up to 20 pounds.
