Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing:

The intern will learn about the field of Human Resources with opportunities to observe and apply what they are learning in real life situations and day-to-day operations via job shadowing and mentoring opportunities. Work on various HR projects, learn the recruitment lifecycle, help with data reporting, and other opportunities within the HR field. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to interface with the AVP-D&I and multiple business partners across the company to solicit relevant input to Grange’s Diversity & Inclusion (D & I) strategy, and support continued D & I efforts.

  • Assist with recruiting process, including interview set-up, scheduling, and greeting candidates
  • Prepare offer letters for candidates, and turndown letters for candidates not hired
  • Process background check paperwork and coordinate drug screens for final candidates
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees and provide feedback about onboarding process
  • Assist with departmental reporting and analytics using the HR Information System (HRIS)
  • Respond to employment verification correspondence from vendors or external employers
  • Shadow the HR Business Partners in handling associate relations issues
  • Learn various talent management functions such as talent reviews, succession planning, associate engagement surveys, etc.
  • Research relevant D & I and Community Relations topics, report and communicate findings via Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as needed

What You’ll Bring To The Company:

Candidates must be working toward a degree in Human Resources, Leadership, Organizational Psychology or a related field. Computer experience including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, also preferred. Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed. Must be driven, self-motivated, and possess the ability to complete multiple tasks within set deadlines.
