Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
- Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.
Specialty Factor: Demonstrated experience administering moderately complex human resource principles, such as recruitment, selection, training, and employee relations, as well as the ability to analyze and explain benefits related rules, policies, and procedures, consistent with Federal and State law, rules, and/or regulations affecting public human resource administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess high degree of emotional intelligence, capable of remaining calm and professional while experiencing/observing angry or emotional outbursts.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment on a consistent basis.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and effectively manage multiple priorities on a daily basis.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to organize, analyze and interpret data with strong attention to detail.
- Must possess the ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of university or public labor organization contracts.
- Experience in higher education human resources.

Responsibilities:
The function of this position is to administer employee benefits for a campus community in excess of 1,200 status and non-status employees. The incumbent in this position requires a high level of expertise in the campus HR benefits program, which includes but not limited to: all leaves of absence, including Military, Disability and Family Medical Leave (FML), retirements, orientation of new staff, benefit maintenance in Banner, CMS, SURS, and Ariel (Morneau Sheppell). Develops and implements policies and procedures related to the benefits functional areas. Authorizes and tracks new hires and retirees, ensuring compliance with SURS participant provisions as well as annuitant rules regarding the employment of retirees. Ensures compliance with the Affordable Care Act. Manages benefits data and adheres to stringent time frames during initial election of benefits, open enrollment, and life change events. Manages employee information regarding Family Medical Leave in Banner for tracking hours and approval. Position will require travel.
Salary:
$60,000 per year
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)
