Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Human Capital (HC) Generalist to join our growing team! The HC Generalist assists in the day-to-day operations of the HC department, and provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services that include but are not limited to: HC compliance, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, and compensation. This position reports to the Human Capital Manager (HCM).

The HC Generalist duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Program and Employee Support: Assists employees with all HC related matters; provides guidance to employees and management.
  • New Hire Onboarding Program Administration: Works closely with the HCM to develop, implement, and maintain an onboarding program of all new employees. This includes SHINE program management (new hire employee orientation - explanation of benefits, explanation of company policies, practices, and procedures, etc.)
  • Employee Separation Administration: Assists with the employee separation process, program documents, and notifications.
  • Benefits Administration: Assists with benefits program administration; acts as a liaison between System High corporation and benefits broker.
    • Executes benefits administration via HRIS and applicable systems/vendors: uploading employees into various systems, following up on deadlines.
    • Assists with benefits reconciliations and reporting.
  • Employee Self Service (ESS) Portal Administration: Responsible for ensuring that HC records, documents, and communications are up to date in the ESS and files.
  • HC Program Management Support:
    • Assists with administration of employee engagement, rewards, and recognition programs.
    • Assists with a variety of HC organizational objectives set by Leadership that ultimately align HC programs with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Metrics and Analysis: Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • Compliance: Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Required Skills (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Experience in a complex multi-state employer environment
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration
  • Strong understanding of Federal, State, & District laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (including Paycom) is a plus

Years of Experience/Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required with a minimum of one (1) years’ experience in HR or administrative setting; Associates and three (3) years of related professional experience in a related discipline; or Master’s degree in related field and no minimum experience. If no degree, then at least four (4) years of directly related experience and training is required.
  • No supervisory experience required.

Clearance

  • No Clearance Required.
  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret government security clearance is desired

Certification Requirements

  • Human Resources related certification desired

Travel

  • Occasional local and nationwide travel. Anticipated 10%.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
