Purpose of Position

THIS POSTING WILL BE USED TO CONDUCT ONGOING RECRUITMENT AND WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.

Why does the job exist?

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative Human Resource support to the Department of Health/Public Health Division/Southwest Region. This position will serve as the key resource person for all Human Resource functions of the Southwest Region. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.

How does it get done?

This position will provide personnel and Human Resources support to SW Region staff on compensation, payroll, and benefits. Prepare documents to assist Region Administrator in tracking personnel budget, payroll reports and corrections, Staffing Plan, etc.
The position provides assistance with the interpretation of State Personnel Board Rules, Department of Health policies and procedures, federal and state laws related to Human Resources.

Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigation, HR related training experience and/or occupational analysis. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA).

Working Conditions

Executive Order 2021-066 requires all employees with the State of New Mexico to provide either proof of COVID-19 vaccination (including proof of a booster dose of vaccine by January 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster dose) or proof of a COVID-19 viral test every week.

The Public Health Order (on Vaccination) dated December 2, 2021, requires Congregate Care Facility Workers and Hospital Workers to have received a primary series of vaccination by October 6, 2021, and a booster dose of vaccine by January 17, 2022, or within four weeks of becoming eligible for a booster.
