Job Description

Under minimal supervision is responsible for performing a variety of secretarial and clerical duties including various ongoing projects related to the operation of the Human Resources Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assists with implementing programs and policies in the areas of benefits packages, incentives and new employee orientation
  • Provides preferred providers list and train managers and associates on procedures to follow in case of injury
  • Assists all visitors and ancillary staff entering the Human Resources Department in a courteous and customer-oriented approach
  • Prepares packets for new hires and assist the applicant through the process through establishment of the personnel file
  • Provides information to those who inquire about career opportunities
  • Maintains job postings Reviews resumes for all candidates and interview non exempt and exempt candidates
  • Provides day to day benefits administration services. Assist employees with any claim issues
  • Administers 401(k) plan and assists with completing yearly compliance reporting
  • Tracks and posts OSHA required data and files reports
  • Maintains employee files. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company
  • Acts as the department’s receptionist: Screens incoming phone calls, sets up appointments and relays messages to appropriate persons
  • Maintains Human Resources bulletin boards at all locations
  • Ensures personnel document forms are properly distributed to department managers in a timely manner
  • Ensures benefits is audited on a monthly basis to ensure that company does not pay for benefits for which employees are ineligible
  • Enforce issues including disciplinary procedures, FMLA policy and benefits information
  • Assists with DOT program
  • Administers disability and worker’s compensation claims
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager
Qualifications
  • One year Human Resources experience preferred
  • Aggressive self-starter
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Trustworthy, confidentiality, and reliable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Skills
