Flex is looking for an HR Generalist to join our team at our Buffalo Grove and Libertyville, IL site locations. This person will be responsible for providing support to the business clients and the Site HRBP with respect to all Flex Human Resource related activities in order to support the growth and profitability of the organization.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
- Schedule employee onboarding processes. Plan new employee orientation by utilizing HR resources such as the HR portal to enable a seamless onboarding experience allowing insight to the Flex goals and culture.
- Ensure the consistent treatment of employees and the consistent application of Flex policies and procedures.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships within all employee levels.
- Counsel management on policy interpretation including any potential risks. Advise and investigate (when applicable) in regard to the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Assists in the documentation/administration of the disciplinary procedure.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation. Conduct exit interviews to provide insight into voluntary separation decisions.
- Represent organization at unemployment hearings (based on business location).
- Administer performance appraisal and compensation programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Administers and promote employee recognition programs.
- Partner with corporate HR COE teams to cascade communications approved by them to ensure all employee levels receive the information on various corporate programs, policies and initiatives.
- Coordinate and communicate various training requirements including management, safety, security, Code of Conduct, etc.
- Be an employee advocate and assist with any workplace concerns or HR related programs.
- Provide employees guidance and resources to allow them to easily contact the GBS HR Help Desk.
- Assist with HR communications and training of managers on new programs, systems and processes as required.
- Monitor the Flexpledge/CSER requirements, complete periodic audits and drive initiatives throughout the site in collaboration with environmental health and safety team.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in education and experience in a Human Resource related function.
- 3+ years progressive human resource generalist experience.
- Solid knowledge of human resource field as well as state and federal employment-related laws, regulations and requirements.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and various software applications (Workday, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Kronos, SharePoint).
- Possess strong organizational skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with employee relations required.
- Detail-oriented, flexible, able to prioritize multiple projects with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitive information.
- Ability to securing commitment and support of management for human resources initiatives.
- Experience in implementing human resources programs in a constantly changing, and dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff. Hands on approach.
- Able to work effectively with partners and staff on projects, office events and activities towards maintaining/strengthening our culture.
- Providing guidance on adherence to employment practices and policies and supporting manager education on people programs, policies, tools and processes.
- Ensuring the consistent application of HR polices and processes.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Here are a few preferred experiences (not required):
- 3+ years progressive human resource generalist experience in a manufacturing/plant level environment preferred.
- Ability to speak and write in Spanish would be extremely beneficial.
- Experience working in a 24-hour manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
