HR DATA ANALYST

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a functional HR Data Analyst to support data conversion activities for the firm’s move to Workday HCM system. The Data Analyst will directly interface with stakeholders and project teams in support of extraction, transformation, and conversion of our legacy data (PeopleSoft, Success Factors) into the Workday tenant.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HR staff to document the data sets to be converted including how much history and any special handling rules needed to mitigate incomplete or flawed data.
  • Use existing/custom reports to extract data, perform analysis and model/test it within the appropriate data conversion templates.
  • Partner with BJ’s IT and ETL teams to design and validate the programs needed to transform and normalize HR data and populate the conversion templates in an automated fashion.
  • Leverage reports or tools to compare and validate data to identify any data issues or flawed logic rules.
  • Partner with Workday consultants and BJ’s staff in leading data validation efforts after its been loaded into Workday.
  • Maintain lists of data corrections or updates that are necessary to avoid errors in future data loads.
  • Represent HR on the data conversion workstream; convey HR’s needs and accomplishments to the IT, ETL teams and Implementation partners.
  • Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, including actively sharing one’s skills and learnings with others within the organization.
  • Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, while regularly keeping HRIS and IT teams abreast of changes or progress related to the project.


Skills & Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working with large, complex data sets for data conversion from Legacy systems to SaaS products
  • Demonstrated experience working with both functional and technical teams to collect, validate, and scrub data for conversion, including documenting logic rules for repeatable solutions
  • Functional knowledge of PS query and SQL; Experience with Workday and Workday reporting is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, and data organizing/management).
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems


Work Environment

  • 100% remote
  • May require evening or weekend work
