Job Description

The HR Business Partner II is the key contact for all HR related matters at their location/s and it might oversee a complex plant and/or several plants/groups. The HR Business Partner II provides support in recruiting, mediation facilitation, resolving workplace issues, labor relations, and administration. The HR Business Partner II works closely with the plant manager/leader and management team to define and execute their site staffing strategy and promote a positive work environment. They are a champion in talent management and fostering a positive employee experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Fosters a positive environment, working with managers and employees to address employee relations issues. This includes maintenance of a recognition program and development of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Coaching managers/supervisors on how to proactively address and resolve issues.
  • Addresses investigations and grievances promptly and in a professional manner.
  • Leverage HR metrics to provide insights and inform decision making.
  • Champion an inclusive work environment – support site Diversity, Inclusion and Equity initiatives. Ensure HR programs and policies are applied consistently.
  • Work closely with the talent acquisition team to fill positions
  • Apply good judgement in addressing compensation need; work closely with the total reward team to ensure equity and best practices
  • Participates in the implementation of company-wide initiatives, training, process improvements, and programs.
  • Maintains electronic and paper employee records according to State and Federal requirements.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and coordinates training for management team members and employees at large.
  • Lead strategic talent review and action plans.
  • Assures compliance with Darigold HR standards, all local, State, and Federal employment laws, making proactive recommendations when potential issues are identified or arise.
  • Is a contributory member of the management team.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism on confidentiality of employee and/or company information.
  • Coordinates, conducts, and maintains new hire on boarding.
  • Perform exit interviews, review feedback and drive improvements.
  • Work closely with leave administration for all leaves of absence, including FMLA and Workers Compensation

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related discipline
  • 7 plus years of progressive experience in Human Resources Previous experience in manufacturing preferred and union experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
  • Proficient in using word, excel, power point and HR systems.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and requirements in areas related to HR including EEO, LOA’s, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, COBRA, and Wage & Hour.
