The Housing Inspector is responsible for inspecting properties using Housing Quality Standards methods and ensuring rent reasonableness using the most up to date HUD Fair Market Rent and Maximum allowed rent schedules. Intervene as necessary with landlord/tenant relations and respond effectively to meet the needs of their clients and children, staff, community member’s and funding agents. This position is non-exempt and works under the supervision of the Program Manager. The eligible candidate for this position would work full time, 40 hours, 1st shift, Monday-Friday.
Working within our Family & Child Services, the Housing Inspector works with the Supportive Housing for Families staff to provide services to stabilize and reunite families experiencing complex issues such as substance use, behavioral health matters, and homelessness.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree
- 4+ years related experience
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- The Connection Inc. complies with Executive Order 13G. Any employee hired on or after September 27, 2021 must either be vaccinated against COVID-19 or apply for a medical or religious exemption and be approved. If approved, you must submit to weekly testing as required in each program.
Orientation:
If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
