The Hampton Inn St. Louis/St. Charles is located off I-70 at Cave Springs. Our focus service hotel is looking for a House-person to join our busy and professional team. Ideally, you'll have some prior experience in a hotel environment, be able to demonstrate initiative and be someone who has the reputation for delivering great service and being fun to work with.
House-persons are responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public spaces and corridors of the facility. Having public spaces, including lobbies, entrances, elevators, and restrooms, that are clean, fully stocked, and in good working order allows us to deliver on an exceptional experience for our guests. Additionally, House-persons contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by reporting damage, following safety rules, and assisting in emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all public spaces of the facility; responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Cleaning entrances, lobbies, elevators, stairwells, exercise and pool areas - Picking up and removing trash - Cleaning and stocking public restrooms - Sweeping, vacuuming and dusting public spaces - Cleaning windows and mirrors Maintain clean, safe and thoroughly stocked work areas
- Respond to guest inquires and requests as appropriate
- Report any damage, mechanical problems, or missing room equipment/items
- Promptly turn in found items with documentation to Lost and Found
- Participate in deep cleaning programs as assigned
- Assist housekeeping staff with assigned duties as requested Qualifications
- Must be able to successfully work alone and complete tasks in prescribed time frame
- Effectively communicate with our guests and team members
- Good eye for detail
Supervisory Responsibilities-No supervisory responsibilities required for this job.
Work Environment-This job operates in a hotel environment; the majority of the work is performed in public spaces and guest rooms. Requires the use of cleaning tools and equipment, cleaning chemicals and manual labor to deliver clean and properly stocked public spaces.
Physical Demands-The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constant physical movement is involved in performing the duties and tasks of a House-person. Frequently position self to clean all public spaces such as the floor, under and behind furniture, and hotel fixtures. The ability to reach both high and low throughout the work shift is required.
