The Housekeepers’ primary responsibilities are to assist the Lead Housekeeper with routine cleaning and custodial care for assigned facilities, projects, coverage of special events, manage assigned teams for summer blitz cleaning of facilities, operate light and heavy janitorial equipment, and perform special cleaning projects as assigned. Participate in training and development opportunities as required. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to cleaning entrances, lobbies, offices, lounges, classrooms, study rooms, restrooms, stairwells, common residential areas, floor care, shower rooms, dining rooms and auditoriums.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Lead Housekeeper
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the direction of the Lead Housekeeper the Housekeeper will maintain specified cleaning responsibilities in assigned buildings and should be able to make independent decisions to accomplish the day to day custodial responsibilities.
- Knowledge in the operations of building services and related equipment and tasks.
- Knowledge of “best practices” cleaning processes.
- Requires interaction with various staff members and fellow team members.
- Requires the ability to remain flexible while working closely with other housekeeping staff; in addition to all Facility Managers and departments across campus to coordinate specific services as needed.
- May be required to work overtime as directed by supervision.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position supervises students assigned to projects.
