The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe environment in all areas of the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, washing, dusting (high and low), polishing walls, floors, cleaning furniture, fixtures and appliances within the facility in an efficient manner
• Prepares discharged patient areas for occupancy
• Sanitizes bed, mattress, furnishings, bathroom, shower and restock paper to ensure hygienic and perfect environment for next patient.
• Performs isolation cleaning procedures as needed according to infection control standard
• Follows isolation procedures to ensure an aseptic environment.
• Utilizes appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment to perform relevant cleaning functions on a variety of surfaces and finishes
• Uses chemical properly and according to directions on the manufacturers label
• Maintains closets with appropriate quantities of supplies.
• Stores all supplies in proper areas.
• Maintains and operates equipment in a clean, safe and secure manner.
• Restores each room or area to its original condition, after each cleaning
• Empties waste receptacles daily to prevent odor and reduce potential spread of microorganisms

Minimum Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred in a health care setting
