The maintenance technician is expected to perform a variety of duties to help maintain the hotel.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations.

2. Along with normal carpentry, plumbing and painting duties the Maintenance technician must be capable of operating hand and power tools and reading, interpreting and measuring metering devices.

3. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specification and operating instructions.

4. Read and complete work orders/service requests.

5. Must be able to detect malfunctions, dismantle and repair equipment, and install working parts.

6. Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and secured.

7. Make structural repairs to masonry, woodwork and furnishings, patch or replace plaster/plasterboard, paint walls, ceilings, trim, and cut and lay flooring (tile, carpet,).

8. May bend/cut conduit pipe, wire and drill holes in walls, floors and ceiling for connections; clean clogged drains and replace plumbing fixtures; connect water supplies and drainage pipelines and perform simple wiring and maintenance repair.

9. Check all exterior lighting, public area lighting and signage daily (parking lot lights, high rise, entrance sign, walkway lighting, corridor, lobby, elevator, etc.). Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.

10. Conduct AM and PM property walk

11. Record daily checklist, meter readings, pool/spa readings, temperature logs, and maintenance log, complete work orders/service requests.

12. Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with hotel standards.

13. Practice energy conservation

14. Ensure security and confidentiality of guest and hotel information and materials.

15. Notify leadership of maintenance issues and complete work orders as needed

16. Responsible for completing all assigned PM's on time

17. Must maintain acceptable inspection grades and audit scores.

18. Respond to all pages and radio calls immediately.

19. Attend work on time as scheduled and adhere to attendance policy.

20. Participates in daily huddles

21. Practice safety standards at all times and keep the property safe for guests and fellow associates. Use wet floor signs as required.

22. Follow proper use of approved chemicals and accurately label chemical container. Always use goggles and gloves when handling chemicals.

23. Report unsafe conditions and suspicious activity to management.

24. Lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 lbs. regularly. Lift, carry or otherwise move up to 100 lbs. or more occasionally with assistance. Follow proper moving and lifting procedures. Regularly required to stand; walk; reach; use hands to handle or feel; stoop; kneel; crouch; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.

25. Responsible for contacting vendors involving maintenance.

· Wear uniform, including nametag.

· Communicate properly and effectively with guest, associates and other leaders.

· Effectively responds to guest complaints.

· Promotes teamwork and associate morale.

· Maintain knowledge of hotel property, hotel staff, hours of operation, and surroundings

· Adheres to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company.

· Know location and use of fire extinguishers.

· To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.

· To be flexible in your job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you, including redeployment to other departments/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.

· To deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional, friendly, courteous and professional guest service at all times

Understand and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.

Maintain knowledge of hotel property, hotel staff, hotel services, hotel service hours of operation, and hotel surroundings.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
