Job Description

The Host/Hoastess controlling the flow of the restaurant through awareness of business needs/volumes, station assignments, breaks, etc.

  • Acts as a role model to all team members and always presents oneself as a credit to Borgata and encourages others to do the same
  • Works diligently to support the S.H.O.W. Service Basic Standards culture and team philosophy throughout the property
  • Practice teamwork and support fellow team members to create an energized, positive work atmosphere
  • Complies with all departmental and Company policies
  • Maintain a high level of personal integrity and moral conduct free of any questionable association
  • Practice excellent grooming and uniform standards
  • Creates and ensures a fresh, positive and exciting environment where sanitation, flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount.
  • Willing to take continuing training and education classes offered at Borgata or outside institutions
  • Follows all OSHA and safety guidelines set forth by the Borgata
  • Knows and adheres to health and sanitation guidelines at all times
  • Demonstrates a courteous, friendly, polite, congenial and efficient attitude
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
  • Wears and utilizes all safety equipment necessary to perform job function
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned
  • Answers phones according to established standards
  • Booking of reservations utilizing the company reservation system
  • Assist with station assignments, rotation planning, and opening/closing/securing the room at shift change or according to established hours of operation, etc.
  • Report all situations to a manager or relief personnel in a timely manner
  • Awareness of all activities in the dining room
  • Knowledge of safety/guest liability procedures for guests and employees
  • Station assignments covering large areas with long walking distances
  • Use of radios with headsets and earpieces for communication may be utilized in designated outlets.
  • Proper radio and telephone etiquette is mandatory.

Job Requirements



  • Must have a minimum of six months experience as a host/hostess in a high volume and/or fine dining environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
