Host / Takeout Cashier

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Host:

• Greet guests with a smile, escort them to tables and provide them with menus, silverware, booster seats, highchairs and coloring sheets (if needed)
• Take reservations and review as needed with Restaurant Manager
• During peak times, communicates to manager on headset
• Take call aheads and handle wait list
• Ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their wait times
• Moves tables together to accommodate large reservations
• Sort menus, take them off side-stands
• Ensure dining rooms and tables are neat, organized and ready to be sat
• Monitor and evaluate table seating
• Maintain a clean entry way and dining room
• Data entry
• Clear communication and teamwork
• Complete side-work duties
• Perform other duties as assigned

Takeout Cashier:

• Enter food orders in the POS system quickly and efficiently
• Use proper telephone etiquette to answer and direct calls
• Answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverages, informing customers about food preparation details and communicate specific customer needs to the kitchen staff
• Stay updated on current menu choices including food specialties, menu deviations, and knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items
• Understand and communicate all products and services available at the restaurant
• Able to respond to guest complaints
• While packaging orders, double check that all food is made and packaged properly and all items ordered are accounted for
• Obtain revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning change
• Clear communication and teamwork
• Perform other duties as assigned
