Hours: 6:30pm - 7:00am

$5,000.00 Sign-on (pro-rated by FTE) Virginia Mason is seeking a Shelter Technician at Bailey-Boushay House located in Seattle’s Madison Valley. The primary responsibilities of this position is to create an environment where homeless individuals can be safe during the night. By creating trust this position encourages and supports the homeless individual in connecting with other daytime services at Bailey-Boushay House to secure permanent housing. Bailey-Boushay House is a nationally recognized model for HIV care. Bailey-Boushay House opened in 1992 as America's first skilled nursing facility that was planned, funded, built and staffed to meet the needs of people living with AIDS. Virginia Mason — a nationally-recognized health care provider — has operated Bailey-Boushay House since the day they opened, ensuring those who come here receive the highest quality care available.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six months direct service with homeless people or a similar population required.
  • Must be able to provide supportive interventions for socially complex clients, in particular when de-escalation problematic behaviors.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire
Preferred:
  • Washington State Department of Health Certification as a Nursing Assistant (NA-C)
  • Associate's degree and 2 years of direct service with homeless people or a similar population.
