Job Description

The main responsibility of a Home Inspector is to inspect and report on the systems and components of a home including reporting on the deficiencies. Other responsibilities include marketing, social media, networking, etc. Work will be a mixture of field work, computer work and networking.

Spotlight is seeking people who are motivated to learn and want to become a Home Inspector as quickly as possible. Experience is not required but is preferred. We are willing to train the right people. The ideal candidate is always curious, resourceful, willing to ask questions and seek help, always striving to get better, faster and more knowledgeable. This means at home study and continuing education beyond the minimum requirements. We’re looking for outgoing, happy and confident people. Technical knowledge and industry experience are certainly a plus.

Home Inspector

The Home Inspector position is for the individual that wants to do it all. You will inspect all aspects of the home within the ASHI standards of practice. For most, becoming a Home Inspector has quite the learning curve. This job requires a great deal of knowledge about a variety of subjects including home structure, roofs, electrical systems, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, attics, insulation, ventilation, kitchens, laundry, exteriors, interiors, garages, decks, wood destroying insects, radon gas, etc. You will be helping to educate home buyers on possibly the biggest investment they will ever make! To make it as a Home Inspector, you must be HIGHLY MOTIVATED to learn and obtain business. Pay

This is a commission based position. You will earn a percentage of the home inspection fee. This starting percentage depends on experience but will be 40% or higher. If you choose to be certified for WDI (wood destroying insects such as termites) then you will have the opportunity to earn additional pay. Setting and retrieving radon monitors will also earn you additional pay. You'll earn $25 per Radon monitor pickup/drop.

Availability

You should plan to be available during regular work week hours and some weekends.

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
