Good speech therapists help patients regain communication, cognition and swallowing skills. Great speech therapists individualize their treatment plan based on the needs, issues and age of each patient. Great speech therapists focus on improvement, adjust their approach depending on how the patient is responding, and understand that therapy is a progressive activity. We are looking for a great speech therapist.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations, treatment and related follow-up services including discharge planning.

• Document patient assessments and pertinent information in a timely manner.

• Complete appropriate goal re-assessment and discharge planning.

• Provide speech therapy, including selection and use of assistive equipment.

• Collaborate with patient and other healthcare personnel or outside agencies regarding coordination of care.

• Provide speech and language therapy according to standards of care defined by the state practice act and other professional and governing agencies.

• Train and educate patients and family members or others support and document understanding of treatment plan and goals.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

• Prior Speech Therapy and/or Home Health experience.

• Customer service skills.

• Accept personal accountability for deliverables and actions.

• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

• Critical thinking skills.

• Deliver patient education under established protocols.

• Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.

• Develop own ways of working effectively and efficiently.

• Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

• Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.

• Show sincere interest in others and their concerns.
