Home Care Assistant (Chicago & Suburb Locations)

Part-Time position(s), with ability to go to Full-Time are available to help clients maintain independence through homecare and personal assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observation of client functioning and reporting changes to his/her supervisor or employer. Takes initiative in notifying supervisor of changes in client.
• Assist with household chores, i.e. plan/cook meals, make/change beds, dust, dishes, vacuum, sweep/mop/wax floors, clean kitchen/bathroom and laundry.
• Assistance in completing activities such as shopping and appointments outside of the home.
• Completion of appropriate records documenting service provision. Follows Plan of Care, reports changes in daily work and calendar.
• Present an open, positive, professional image to all clients and individuals in their support system, co-workers and public by displaying courtesy and respect at all times and under all circumstances.
• Assist with shave, medication reminders, nail care, dressing, etc.

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age or older;
• Possess a high school diploma or GED;
• One year experience in home care field or comparable human service capacity or experience care of a dependent child or adult family member.
• Ability to use technology.
• An ability to show compassion for the needs of clients
• An ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Able to speak English and to be a good listener
