As a Histology Assistant you will support the Pathology Lab in a variety of functions including specimen processing and handling. You will provide clinical support as well as clerical support to ensure an efficient and seamless workflow.

• You will review procedures with patients/family members and answer any questions they might have regarding the procedure.
• Correctly process specimens assuring identification and proper labeling of specimens.
• You will log blocks and/or slides in appropriate log books and ensure samples are picked up and sent to appropriate facilities for processing.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Post High School courses in a medical related field preferred or Associates of Science degree preferred
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Specimen processing experience preferred

HOURS

• 
  Full Time / 40 hours per week
• Day Shift to include an occasional weekend shift
