Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to travel and perform maintenance operations in the Grand Prairie, TX area and will require travel, primarily in Houston, and Austin, TX. Position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, guardrail, and drainage and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Required Experience:
Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools
Air compressor operations familiarity
Minimum 3 years of related experience
Roadway maintenance experience
Guardrail and Sign installation experience
Concrete forming/repair experience
MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
Preferred Experience:
Roadway maintenance experience
CDL license a plus
Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to operate hand/power tools
Schedule:
Full time; NIght shift, Sunday-Thursday nights. Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
Must be able to work some night and weekend work.
Position requires ability to be flexible and travel 50% of the time.
