High School Science (Biology) Teacher - For The 2021-22 School Year

Summary: Full-time High School Science teacher (Bilogy emphasis) for the 2021-22 school year. Teach district approved curriculum in a positive classroom environment. You will be working with a professional staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.

Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects. Clearly communicating these objectives to students.

Evaluates student academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.

Is available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day as established by building principal.

Communicates regularly with parents outside normal school day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conference, etc.

Identifies student needs and makes appropriate referrals, and develops strategies for individual education plans.

Participates in professional growth activities and follows the policies and procedures of the school district.

Qualifications/Certifications:

Must hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri teaching certificate in the area of Biology and/or Unified Science and/or Unified Biology,
