Gateway High School in Fort Myers, Florida has an anticipated opening for a Carpentry Instructor for the 2022-2023 school year. The Carpentry Instructor will be responsible for preparing students to enter the construction industry as an apprentice (carpenters helper) to assist journeyman carpenters to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The Instructor will also help maintain work areas and equipment, and manage building materials and supplies on the construction site.
Career Qualifications:
*A qualified candidate must provide proof of one of the following qualifications:
- a minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in cabinet and woodworking occupations.
- a minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in carpentry occupations.
- a minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in carpentry or building construction occupations.
- a minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in surveying occupations.
Certification Requirements:
·Applicants must have documentation of industry certification when state or national industry certifications are available and applicable.
Compensation (per TALC Agreement with The School District of Lee County):
- Starting Salary: $47,300
- 196-day calendar work year
