Heating Service Technician (New Sign

This role is responsible for the day-to-day servicing of our customers through troubleshooting and performing diagnostic activities in regards to service equipment within established policies and procedures.

What you can expect in a typical day:

• Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of oil and propane fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters and oil tanks.
• Fix problems that occur by reviewing diagnostics and using the proper tools to complete repairs.
• Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely.
• Foster good customer relations by explaining to customers the service work performed.
• Complete appropriate daily paper work for each service call.
• Maintain daily and yearly inventory.
• Ensure the service truck is in good working order and reliable.
• Frequent driving, climbing in and out of vehicle and working in confined spaces. Heavy lifting and ability to work at heights ranging up to 50 ft. Rotational on call evenings and weekends.
• Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity.

What you'll need to succeed:

• 5 years of experience installing and servicing residential and light commercial Oil and LP heating systems
• A Maine Oil and Solid Fuel Board Master Oil License preferred
• Journeyman Oil license minimum
• LP Tank Setter, Installation, Service, Delivery, Plant Operator licenses a plus
• Strong commitment to Safety
• A strong history of reliable customer service
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Valid motor vehicle driver’s license
• CDL-B with Hazmat endorsement a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of wiring and plumbing is required.
• Ability to work well with others; good organization and communication skills; attention to detail and strong customer service.
