Healthy Communities Specialist

Overview:JOB SUMMARYThis position manages the wellness and health workforce development program (wHealth) which includes collaborating with school districts, community agencies, and local government to develop promote health and develop interest for the future health workforce in the region. Responsibilities include adapting curriculum, development of metrics and evaluation, operationalizing the program, training, orientation and direct supervision of a team of interns.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in health, social work, education, or business is required. A Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Two years of community experience in organizing and executing projects, preferably in a health or community setting. This requirement may be met through a combination of professional, educational, and community service experience.
Knowledge and Skills: Ideal candidates will have:

• The ability to work with diverse groups including hospital management, schools, non-profits, civic/community partners, and the general public.
• Strong organizational abilities including planning, program development, and implementation.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and effectively prioritize work.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated an ability to work independently is required.

License/Certifications: Valid driver’s license.
Equipment: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
