This position is responsible for partnering with our business leaders to manage the delivery of TOMRA Food's health and safety strategic and operational plans to our work sites. Areas of responsibility include TOMRA Food facilities across North America. It also includes working closely with Service and project teams as they install and maintain TOMRA machines.

This person will be operating in the Business Area TOMRA Fresh within TOMRA Food.

The HSE Business Partner will:

  • Liaise with the NAM leadership team, providing information and guidance, in close cooperation with the Senior HSE Business Partner.
  • Develop and implement an annual improvement plan for the Americas.
  • Assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of Global health and safety management systems.
  • Monitor and report progress against the agreed annual improvement plan to the Senior HSE Business Partner.
  • Provide training for the implementation of programs, procedures, work practices and/or management initiatives
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and supervisors in the development of Site-Specific Safety Plans, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments and Control Measures
  • Support line managers in meeting local legal requirements, e.g., hazardous substances, incident recording and reporting, and other regulations
  • Contribute to contractor management by ensuring the Global Contractor Management Standard is met.
  • Ensure regular health and safety reviews take place at each site, against requirements of legislation, company guidelines and safety management plans with a greater focus on high-risk areas or activities.
  • Manage occupational health services in support of injury & illness prevention, management, and rehabilitation programmes to promote employee health and wellbeing.

What we need from you:

  • An understanding of the philosophies of safety management systems and the construct of such systems
  • Strong knowledge of the US legal framework, i.e OHSA and regulations
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing safety showing performance improvement.
  • Knowledge of US reporting requirements, i.e. OSHA 300 log
  • Ability to build relationships with managers and workers that support collaboration across all levels
  • Preference is for somebody who has experience working within the manufacturing sector.
  • Preferably 3-5 years relevant experience
