Job Description

Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital. The comprehensive healthcare system includes a 484 bed academic medical center, a large outpatient Clinic & Specialty Center, and a network of primary and specialty care clinics in Minneapolis and in suburban communities. SUMMARY

Hennpin Healthcare has a current opening for a Health Care Specialist in our MKP Family Resource Center. This part-time (0.8 FTE) will work a flexible schedule which will be days, evenings, and occasional weekends. This is a grant funded position that is expected to end 12 months from the start date.

Identifies, develops, coordinates, and organizes all activities related to the Michael K Popkin Psychiatry Family Resource Center (FRC), including community outreach.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies and creates opportunities for people to utilize and benefit from the Family Resource Center, including support groups, educational events, awareness week activities, and lunch and learns
  • Plans and promotes functions and/or events to educate people on mental illness
  • Coordinates recognition week activities, including games, drawings, posters, and speakers
  • Requests funds for functions and events and tracks expenses
  • Evaluates and tracks the effectiveness of opportunities, events, and activities and recommends changes as necessary
  • Educates HHS team members about the Family Resource Center
  • Updates Family Resource Center webpage, as needed including advertising the hours and activities on the website and to community partners
  • Builds and maintains relationships with community partners to utilize the center via phone, e-mail, and in-person interactions
  • Recruits, orients, and trains volunteers by going to local schools and working with volunteer services
  • Completes electronic work orders and ensures Family Resource Center is free from disrepair
  • Organizes and restocks supplies
  • Performs other duties as needed related to the Family Resource Center

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in public health, public administration, psychology, sociology, or other relevant field.
  • One year of relevant work experience

OR

  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
