LIM is seeking a Head of Operations who will lead the portfolio operations group. This position requires prior successful experience leading, managing, and developing an interdisciplinary team; building and managing strong internal and external relationships; and prioritizing high-quality effective ongoing operations while driving forward real progress on projects and initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Actively foster open lines of communication and effective collaboration within and across teams
  • Drive ongoing process improvement on all levels – daily operations, project management, and strategic implementations – to constantly improve the efficiency, quality, and completeness of operations with a view to supporting current and future growth
  • Champion data integrity across all internal systems
  • Support RFP process and onboarding/transition scope assessment; ensure financial and operational risk considerations are clearly defined and coordinate planning/resourcing
  • Oversee negotiation and approval of contracts and other commitments
  • Define, measure, and manage goals for departmental performance and risk mitigation
  • Contribute to departmental budget and other planning
  • Work with team to define, communicate, and execute departmental goals; take an active role in supporting team culture and providing real support as needed
  • Cultivate and provide opportunities for talent within the organization

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience is required
  • Excellent management skills; strong track record in leading, engaging, and developing a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to guide and leverage knowledge and experience of subject matter experts
  • Easily builds relationships of trust, respect, and credibility with internal and external stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge across a broad range of asset classes, including: US fixed income securities (e.g., TIPS, municipals, ABS, CMBS, FRN), distressed, privately held securities, derivatives, US and global equity
  • Appreciation for compliance considerations of more complex securities and the complexities of transacting in global markets
  • Strong understanding of the unique considerations of SMA and various Fund structures, including the associated regulations, reporting, and year end processes
  • Flexible and self-motivated with an ability manage multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize/delegate appropriately
  • Ability to drive longer term projects to timely completion while remaining responsive to more urgent priorities
  • Ability to operate independently and collaborate effectively within a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment
  • Ability to ask good questions and to be persistent in locating, enlisting, and leveraging resources to reach a satisfactory resolution
