Old North State League, Inc.

The Old North State League is the largest college summer wood bat league in North Carolina and one of the largest in the entire country. The ONSL was founded in 2018 by a group of professional baseball players and business leaders that wanted to create a league designed around the players' interests.

Job Summary

The Old North State League is looking for a Head Coach for the Swepsonville Sweepers. The Head Coach will be working closely with the league owners and management, on recruiting a full roster of players and running all baseball related duties. They will hire and work closely with their coaching staff to make sure that the team is properly organized and managed during practices and games. The Head Coach will be in charge of recruiting a team of college baseball players within 30 minutes of the home stadium. The Head Coach will be in charge of making sure that all athletes are reaching their individual goals, and benchmarks that have been given to them by their college coaches. They will also need to understand that the team puts a huge emphasis on community involvement and fan interaction throughout the summer and make this a priority for themselves and the players.

Duties (include but are not limited to)

  • Recruit college players that are local to the Burlington/Durham regions
  • Track, monitor and help players reach their individual goals
  • Plan and manage team practices, games, and team meetings
  • Help market the organization at community events
  • Help teach players the importance of their impact with fans and the community

The Head Coach Must

  • Understand the team and league goals and core values
  • Be able to manage a college baseball game
  • Be a great communicator
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Have the ability to adapt
  • Be able to commit to the entire season which includes daily off-field duties and off-season duties

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $1,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Burlington, NC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
