We are looking for an experienced, self motivated, and team oriented hardware system design manager to drive the creation of industry leading Cloud Networking Ethernet switches. Arista takes pride in designing and manufacturing the highest density & greatest bandwidth products in the market. As an Arista hardware engineering manager you will lead multiple cross-functional teams in the design and verification of an industry leading portfolio Networking Ethernet switches.

- Able to take broad, high level product direction and execute
- Translate high level product direction into detailed, executable steps for cross-functional teams to execute
- Track project execution & status in sufficient detail to be able to identify when projects deviate from agreed upon plans
- Create and implement plan changes to mitigate and/or correct deviations from the agreed upon plans.
- Ensure that all projects within your portfolio have a plan of record (PoR) that meet customer and corporate expectation and these PoR are properly documented and communicated
- Communicate project status and changes to mitigate the unexpected
- Develop and communicate priorities across a portfolio of projects to meet corporate goals and customer commitments
- With a focus on time to market, drive the design of high quality products with high first pass yields at manufacturing
- Working with the operations team, insure Arista has the prototype manufacturing infrastructure and capacity required to meet the expected needs of your product portfolio
- Continuously drive the IC, connector, FAB, manufacturing, and HW diagnostics teams for technical advancements while ensuring technology transitions are properly managed by the project teams.
- Be the initial point of contact for customer escalations
- Lead and mentor hardware engineers to develop similar skills
Qualifications
- BS or MS Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- A Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
- Experience designing networking hardware, particularly Ethernet switches
- Experience leading internal and external engineering teams delivering multiple projects simultaneously
- High layer count printed circuit boards
- High Speed design experience
- Working closely with product management and factory operations to plan, prioritize and deliver a constantly evolving portfolio of products.
- Experience designing for Manufacturability
- Working with Contract Manufacturers
- Successfully taking products from concept to production
- Excellent communicator of requirements, critical path, and schedules
- Experience leading the cross-functional teams that execute these product designs on time and on budget.
- Recruiting & hiring engineers to build successful engineering teams
