Job Background/Context

The Global Margin Lending (GML) business of GWM provides financing against liquid financial investments to the whole wealth spectrum of clients ranging from the affluent up to the Ultra High Net Worth segment. In addition, GML provides a first line of defense credit analysis and approval function for all counterparty risk across GWM. This includes Global Margin Lending, Global Credit Markets (FX and Derivatives), and Markets Direct Access (a joint venture with Citi Markets and Global Capital Markets within GWM).

The Portfolio Solutions Team is responsible for three aspects within Global Margin Lending: Loanable Value Methodology and Implementation, Portfolio Stress Testing, and Portfolio Management. Portfolio Solutions works closely with our GML Lending teams to serve as a critical component of our First Line of Defense for Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) management and works with our Independent Risk partners to ensure best-in-class risk and controls, as well as client responsiveness.

The Portfolio Solutions Product Design Lead is responsible for partnering with Portfolio Solutions team leads to digitize transformational methodologies and processes. They are responsible for leading the business, design, and implementation for end-to-end business architecture owned and performed by the Portfolio Solutions teams located around the world, ensuring the consistency of fundamental approaches and tailored to regional and segmented needs. In addition, the lead is a key partner with global stakeholders including Risk and Technology, and coordinates with other business stakeholders in GML, Investments, and Banking. Excellent analytical and communication skills are required to synthesize the sometimes competing perspectives and influence colleagues in other areas.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Global Head of Portfolio Solutions
  • Actively aligns the business architecture, designs, develops, and drives transformation, regulatory remediation and beyond consent order (target state) objectives.
  • Identifies opportunities to integrate various aspects of enterprise strategy, design, modelling and technology solutions, promote inter-connectivity between platforms, and facilitate platform governance.
  • Interprets and contextualizes the digital strategy for operational needs, map business capabilities to bridge the gap between strategy and execution.
  • Designs, develops and facilitates strategic vision of Portfolio Solutions methodologies and processes. Identifies and executes through process design, strategic transformation and utilization of organizational and infrastructure optimizations.
  • Drives the design of the business architecture for strategic vision of Portfolio Solutions optimized processes. Collaborate with stakeholders responsible for strategy development, business analysis, process management, and system analysis to develop Portfolio Solutions platform vision.
  • Assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
