St Luke’s is seeking two Guest Services Specialists for our Boise and Meridian hospitals.
The Guest Services Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional care for our patients and guests by offering them professional service and creating a memorable and rewarding patient experience. This role is like no other!
This person is the concierge of the hospital. They have to be multifaceted, great with people, able to network with management and many different teams, and have intuition to see when a need must be met.

This is not a traditional ‘behind the desk’ role. Guest Services Specialists are on their feet for most of the day, moving around within the hospital making sure that patients needs are met. They show them to their appointments when they are lost, they help with their registration when the front desk is too full, they know the various departments and people in the hospital to send patients to the right person who can help them. If they don’t know the answer, then they know the right resource who will!
The perfect candidate for this role will be a professional who can carry themselves well in any setting and who will treat all our patients with kindness and respect.
The hours for this role are normal business hours, Monday through Friday.

- Provides an exceptional patient experience by delivering a high level of service to every patient or visitor every time. This includes greeting and directing patient to correct destinations.
- Acts as a liaison between patients, guests, staff and providers to ensure facilitation of requests with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
- Obtains necessary insurance information for patient and answers questions or directs patients to appropriate staff members for questions regarding insurance, billing, payment and/or collection arrangements.
- Supports scheduling and registration in all service lines within area of assignment.
- Assesses patient flow and makes real-time adjustments to scheduling and registration to support efficient and effective operations.
- Understands requirements for each insurance company, including third party payers, and obtain authorizations needed.
- Ensures that pre-certification and/or authorization/referral requirements have been completed by placing phone calls to insurance companies, physician offices, patients, and utilizing web based applications.
- Maintains and improves quality results by adhering to standards and guidelines; recommends improved procedures.
- Solves problems of limited complexity and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
- Identifies possible crisis/emergency situations and direct actions appropriately.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3 years relevant experience.
