Job Description
Overview: World Travel Holdings is seeking Group Vacation Planners who will work from home. As a Group Vacation Planner, you will play an important role in growing our group/event business. You will be successful by achieving goals that include, but are not limited to, cruise sales, complimentary product sales, net revenue, and exceptional service levels. The Group Vacation Planner owns the relationship with their group/event leaders and is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing their groups/events profitability.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop leads generated by inbound sales calls, e-leads, email blasts, direct mailing promotions, outbound call campaigns, prospecting and referral business
  • Leave a long-lasting, positive impression with every customer by providing your expert travel recommendations
  • Maintain periodic contact with existing and prospective customers through outbound efforts to generate new business and build a repeat client base
  • Build customer relationships by taking new inbound sales and service calls as well as proactive sales activities to develop Group/Event sales opportunities and generate repeat business
  • Be the “go to” group vacation planner your customers need by proactively following up
  • Effectively follow and execute our Customer Connection sales process for the sale of group cruises, travel insurance, and lead management
  • Accurately book and confirm vacation reservations in a timely manner utilizing vendor booking systems whenever possible
  • Provide exceptional service to all internal and external clients by positioning yourself as a value and resource to your customers
  • Negotiate and block group space with vendors
  • Create and manage group leads in our proprietary reservation system
  • Manage communications and resources with Group Leaders
  • Collaborate with Group Leaders to develop effective marketing programs that promote incremental sales
  • Manage payment guidelines/deadlines and process client payments as needed
  • Effectively recommend and sell add-on products such as Shore Excursion Group, Resort For A Day, prepaid gratuities, and trip protection
  • Maintain brand integrity at all times
  • Maintain minimum performance standards and key metrics
  • Be engaged in team meetings and/or training sessions as needed
  • Initiate ongoing product knowledge through online courses, vendor supplied e-learning, and other online resources
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience of travel sales experience required, groups experience preferred
  • Must enjoy managing high complexity travel arrangements
  • Self-management mastery; can stay on top of key tasks and ask for help when needed
  • Exceptional verbal communication and problem-solving skills are necessary
  • Assertive closing skills to overcome objections and drive sales, and ability to delight customers while creating a remarkable experience
  • Absolutely amazing phone presence and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for travel; after all, we’re selling fun!
  • Comfort and ability to independently prospect new leads
  • Super tech savvy; strong typing skills, internet navigation and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Our current schedule is 9:00am – 6:00pm Monday - Friday (EST)
  • Available to work full-time (40-45 hrs./week) based on business needs
  • Proven attendance track record of reliability and punctuality
  • Must be a resident and live in a US state. We do not currently hire in AK, CA, HI, KY, ND, OH, OR, and PA.
