Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.
Summary:
The graphic designer role is responsible for creative strategy and insights to produce an innovative and cost-effective (human-centered) design that will drive brand awareness, engage target audiences and encourage the customer journey. The position requires a “big-picture” thinker to ensure deliverables address business objectives for all designed projects including digital assets, collateral designs, and content management for consistent branding, imagery, messaging, and alignment with Nuvance Health strategic priorities.

Summary:
The graphic designer role is responsible for creative strategy and insights to produce an innovative and cost-effective (human-centered) design that will drive brand awareness, engage target audiences and encourage the customer journey. The position requires a “big-picture” thinker to ensure deliverables address business objectives for all designed projects including digital assets, collateral designs, and content management for consistent branding, imagery, messaging, and alignment with Nuvance Health strategic priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualizes new campaigns to support Nuvance Heath business objectives. Manages the creative process from concept to completion to support priority business objectives, hospital/corporate plans and campaigns, internal communications, and ad-hoc projects as required.
- Partners closely with Marketing and PR to define creative strategies and concepts, plan/execute production processes, and ensures brand/visual consistency across the health system.
- Conceptualizes and implements new processes to enhance quality, expedite delivery and minimize costs while maintaining high satisfaction among internal clients.
- Manages and maintains freelance agencies, photographers, illustrators, designers, and Mac support services. Collaborates with in-house/external printers to ensure accurate and cost-effective execution of creative deliverables.
- Makes recommendations for additions or changes to graphic and brand standards as appropriate.
- Identifies and makes recommendations for appropriate software in support of publication or promotional projects. Serves as a technical resource regarding design hardware and software. Evaluates the need for new equipment as needed.
- Educates and advises internal constituents on streamlined and prioritized project intake, brand guidelines, technical visual recommendations, and production processes.
- Augments advertising agency in creating high-impact assets and provides counsel to agency partners ensuring assets meet health system standards and deadlines.
- Meets department and client budget requirements by monitoring expenses, providing estimates, adjusting design accordingly, and implementing cost-savings actions.
- Provides accurate time and cost estimates for each tactic to remain within or under budget.
- Designs and produces assets for digital needs, including social media graphics and banners, static and rich banner ads, email campaigns, email templates, and website.
- Maintains a positive attitude while managing multiple projects that deliver high-quality assets on time and on budget.

- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field.
- Excellent communications skills; the ability to work independently and efficiently on concurrent projects; the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal staff and outside partners/vendors.
- Requires proven ability and experience with design software and technology applications, specifically, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash HTML, Dreamweaver, FileMakerPro, and others as required.
- Competent in the use of the Mac operating system and Microsoft Offline applications.
- 5+ years of digital design experience.
- 3+ years of digital and social marketing.
