Job Description

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

The GRAMMY Museum is looking for a motivated and resourceful Graphic Designer with a relentless work ethic and mindset to produce incredible work for brand design projects and delivering design-leading creative that inspires people to engage with our brand.

As an integral part of the Marketing team, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for design/production for a variety of Marketing projects across all areas of the company, including social media graphics, educational material (i.e. lesson plans, etc.), annual reports, fundraising collateral, print collateral, and more.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Conceptualize and create layout and designs for various marketing and media products, spanning marketing collateral and brochures, corporate identity kits, advertising, signage, web design, social media graphics, gifs, program books, email newsletters, posters, video interstitials, annual reports, and evergreen brand projects
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand design needs and advise on best practices, offering solutions that consider budget, brand, format, and timing
  • Translate brand identity across various online and offline platforms
  • Work with Director of Marketing to create and expand a brand specifications and guidelines from exhibits to the final marketing materials
  • Educate internal stakeholders on brand specifications and monitor all outgoing work to ensure adherence to brand identity standards
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop creative solutions to marketing challenges
  • Produce multiple creative design needs, daily, to address all internal and external marketing and communications needs across the GRAMMY Museum
  • Provide creative expertise to team, continually educating and inspiring internal team members on the fundamentals and latest trends in design and visual communications
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to create templates that can be customized. Manage all aspects of material creation, from concept to mock presentations to execution and delivery
  • Work with external resources, as needed, overseeing all aspects of production to ensure all work meets brand standards and project timelines
  • Present ideas and projects to key stakeholders, including senior managers
  • Attend press checks as needed, and Q/A all design projects through production and print


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following skills and requirements. Candidates are also required to submit an online portfolio of sample work or website with sample work with application:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a professional designer
  • Experience in the music and/or museum industry preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of print technology, illustration, photography, and production
  • Advanced level of Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent layout and typography skills.
  • Extremely strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask with strong project and time management skills.
  • Email design/functionality and HTML experience preferred
  • Dreamweaver, Flash, CSS, JavaScript, and Flex experience is a plus
