POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Manager would be based in New York and cover the Offshore Mexico segment of the market, among other support for our team. The primary responsibility of this person would be to support the business management team providing oversight for the market including: financial and information management, sales management and project management with interface for office management, and support for regulatory and change initiatives. The Business Manager will join the team covering Mexico on day to day market initiatives while managing business risk and controls. The Business Manager will also work closely with bankers and investors to ensure business initiatives are being met in an efficient and timely manner and ensure the highest level of execution for the region's ongoing business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:
Financial and Information Management:
- Partner with finance to manage financial planning and forecasting processes
- Drive disciplined expense management
- Monitor performance against plan
- Conduct analyses to drive further insights and opportunities about business
- Provide business information and analysis (e.g., financial reporting, forecasting)
Business Development and Planning
- Understand GWM and Market Business initiatives, priorities, and objectives and ensure that those initiatives, priorities, and objectives are incorporated into the Market Business plan
- Communicate initiatives, priorities, and objectives to the Market, and monitor/report on progress towards goals
- Partner with Business-aligned functional areas (Client Service, Onboarding, Solutions, Asset Class Leaders, Finance, SM, Compliance) with respect to change management initiatives impacting the Market
Sales Management:
- Develop and maintain robust sales management processes and toolkits for market manager
- Manage client segmentation strategies and monitor results
- Assist in sales management sessions with the Market Manager
- Assist with meeting management and agenda setting (e.g., Market Managers Calls, Role Play Sessions, etc.).
Business Administration:
- Coordinate with hiring manager and HR on the on-boarding of new hires
- Evaluate the administrative needs and capacity of the administrative teams (provide point of contact for admin team)
- Approve the procurement of goods and services and market level expense reports
- Assist in all other office related or admin issues
- Organize all hands-on meetings, forums and events (e.g., town halls)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills (required)
- Proactive, strategic thinker
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Finance and accounting experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Client focused with a tenacity to resolve issues and conflicts
- Ability to multi-task and organize work to meet deadlines across multiple projects and managers
- High energy and enthusiasm required to partner with multiple stakeholders
- Capable of exercising forceful yet sensible leadership; willing to make tough/unpopular decisions
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required (engineering, business, or economics-related major preferred, or equivalent work experience in finance and/or a financial services firm)
- MBA a plus
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience preferred
- Specific industry related experience preferred
