You will:

  • Review current Atlanta service performance. Work with facility manager and local Engineering and Quality Assurance teams, Supervisors, maintenance, and other departments to understand operational and machine processes, transportation, and other data that are impacting performance
  • Perform service analyses for high contributing service lanes that are not performing
  • Develop standard processes (such as checklists) to guide facilities nationwide in future service lane investigation and improvement
  • Other tasks as assigned to improve key service and productivity-focused KPIs
  • Provide input on facility layout
  • Use 5s methods to create more efficient operations within facilities
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Some travel possible

Qualifications


Your background:

As an Industrial Engineering & Continuous Improvement Intern, you have or are:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Process-focused, excited to be on the workroom floor to gain practical understanding and create solutions that achieve a consistent, quality flow to improve service for our clients. At least 50% of your time will be on the facility floor.
  • Advanced working knowledge in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • A team player with strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving skills
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Some knowledge in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing operations, or similar process-oriented operations
  • Six Sigma certification or similar is a plus
