Job Description
LOCATIONPlease note that this role is currently 100% remote through 2021, due to the pandemic. However, there is an option for this role to be remote or US office-based, based on the company policy and candidate fit. Available offices for this role are in San Antonio, Texas.
JOB SUMMARY
In this role, you will be focused on producing high-quality, high-impact content marketing at all stages of the marketing funnel and responsible for driving the strategic vision for all content marketing at Rackspace Technology, which includes the management of four publications on Rackspace.com — Solve: Thought Leadership, The Rackspace Corporate Blog, Customer Advocacy Program and the Technical blog.
This position will work closely with product, partner, digital and regional marketing teams to help identify needs and create the best content possible, targeted at the right audience.
The successful candidate will manage a team of editors, writers, and content specialists, and is also expected to foster their growth and careers and advocate for their success including:
Accountability for the performance and results of a team within its own area of specialty Adapts functional area plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges Technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers
RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTION
  • Pulls necessary reporting to understand the performance and impact of content marketing collateral.
  • Presents and explains the implications of key information to suit the needs of a wide range of audiences on issues important to the business unit.
  • Develops strong relationships with marketers across regions and departments, as well as technical leadership and subject matter experts.
  • Provides strategic guidance on the best topics and formats of content to target audiences and meet goals.

Thought leadership
o Overall program strategy o Executes global research studies and creates content to highlight results and drive brand awareness and high-quality pipelines. o Publishes high-quality written content on a regular cadence, highlighting interesting and compelling stories in the IT infrastructure industry o Foster authorship throughout the company and build an internal thought leadership brand o Produce three podcasts – Sources guests, produces recordings, creates relevant content to promote. o Distribution of content through paid and organic social media and email marketing.
Corporate Blog
o Overall publication strategy o Sources content that is relevant and tells the story of Rackspace Technology as a company in a compelling manner o Supports Blog Editor in creating compelling corporate content
SEO
o Supports SEO across all content publications and content on the rackspace.com website o Trains employees on SEO best practices o Supervises and manages SEO agency output
Customer Advocacy
o Supports customer advocacy manager(s) in advocating for the program o Identify opportunities to grow and advance the program internally and externally o Leverage customers in the creation of compelling content
Product Marketing
o Create a strategy for compelling content to support product marketing stories and product launches, including whitepapers, ebooks, webinars, live social media broadcasts, blog posts, thought leadership, and social media content
Regional Marketing
o Assist in regionalizing content to be relevant to audiences across the globe o Coordinate translation and regionalization of content design where necessary Knowledge/Skills
    • Knows how to craft and tell a story. Excellent storyteller.
    • Understanding and appreciation of the differences between audiences for various products, knowledge of how to best target these audiences with content.
    • Experience writing and editing content about tech for technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Excellent decision making and project management skills
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing workloads to meet competing deadlines
    • Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
    • Ability to recognize salient business issues that “move the needle”, detects patterns, draw conclusions, and present conclusions to internal stakeholders
    • Ability to make recommendations and decisions based on available data
    • Ability to speak publicly to both small and large groups
Education/Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Media or related.
    • Google Analytics certification preferred
    • 8-10+ years of content marketing experience.
    • Experience running a publication including editorial and distribution strategy preferred.
    • Previous people management experience preferred.
